CHINESE authorities are trying to reassure amorous couples that sexy text messages will not land them in jail amid a crackdown against pornography on the internet and mobile phones.

Two high-ranking justice officials, quoted on Saturday in Beijing News, made a point of giving precise details of the anti-pornography law a few days after an explanation of the text by the country’s Supreme Court and the supreme public prosecutor’s department.

“If a friend feels offended (by a pornographic message), then it is possible there is an offence, but if this friend likes it and both exchange messages, then surely there does not have to be an offence,” said Hu Yunteng, an official in charge of research at the Supreme Court.

“So for friends or colleagues who exchange vulgar content or make fun between themselves by messages, at this level the full weight of the legal apparatus will not be brought to bear against the vulgarity of such people.”

The legal authorities explained that they were targeting only criminals responsible for the mass diffusion of pornographic messages.

Under China’s law, police can place anyone who transmits pornographic or insulting messages in administrative detention for five to 10 days, the newspaper said.

According to Chinese media, in 2009 the authorities arrested nearly 5,400 people during a nationwide crackdown against pornography on the internet and closed thousands of websites.

Faced with “yellow,” or pornographic, messages, authorities are fighting back with “red” messages of their own which transmit revolutionary values, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Saturday.

A SEXUAL quest that has for years baffled millions of women, and men, may have been in vain.

A study by British scientists has found that the mysterious G-spot, the sexual pleasure zone said to be possessed by some women but denied to others, may not exist at all.

The scientists at King’s College London who carried out the study claim there is no evidence for the existence of the G-spot, supposedly a cluster of internal nerve endings, outside the imagination of women influenced by magazines and sex therapists.

They reached their conclusions after a survey of more than 1,800 British women.

“Women may argue that having a G-spot is due to diet or exercise, but in fact it is virtually impossible to find real traits,” said Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology, who co-authored the research.

“This is by far the biggest study ever carried out and it shows fairly conclusively that the idea of a G-spot is subjective.”

In the research, 1,804 British women aged 23-83 answered questionnaires. All were pairs of identical or non-identical twins. Identical twins share all their genes, while non-identical pairs share 50 percent of theirs.

If one identical twin reported having a G-spot, this would make it far more likely that her sister would give the same answer. But no such pattern emerged, suggesting the G-spot is a matter of the woman’s subjective opinion.

While 56 percent of women overall claimed to have a G-spot, they tended to be younger and more sexually active. Identical twins were no more likely to share the characteristic than non-identical twins.

Andrea Burri, who led the research, said she was anxious to remove feelings of “inadequacy or underachievement” that might affect women who feared they lacked a G-spot.

“It is rather irresponsible to claim the existence of an entity that has never really been proven and pressurise women – and men, too,” she said.

THIS is the woman who looks to have captured media heir Ryan Stokes’ heart.

Laura Weston has remade herself as a promising Sydney lawyer but for years she supported herself as a model, finding a niche as a covergirl for men’s magazines including FHM and Ralph.

The attractive blonde has become Stokes’ preferred companion and has been seeing the young media magnate on a regular basis for the past month.

Stokes, who lost his heart to actress Jodi Gordon but ended that relationship in June last year, looks to have found his form on the dating scene.

Weston, previously linked to Getaway travel presenter Jason Dundas and before that Redbacks cricketer Callum Ferguson, has managed to avoid the party girl tag that has stuck to her good mate, fellow men’s mag favourite party girl Siobhan Parekh.

Parekh is the ex-girlfriend of Mark Philippoussis and Mark Judge, who was Gordon’s companion on her big night out in Kings Cross last year which resulted in the end of her high-profile relationship with Stokes.

LAS VEGAS: Roxxxy the sex robot had a coming-out party in Sin City at the weekend.

In what is billed as a world first, a life-size robotic girlfriend complete with artificial intelligence and flesh-like synthetic skin was introduced to adoring fans at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas on Saturday.

”She can’t vacuum, she can’t cook, but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean,” said her inventor, Douglas Hines, of the company TrueCompanion.

”She’s a companion. She has a personality. She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep. We are trying to replicate a personality of a person.”

At 170-centimetres tall and 54.43 kilograms, Roxxxy ”has a full C cup and is ready for action”, said Hines, who was an artificial intelligence engineer at Bell Laboratories before he started up TrueCompanion.

The anatomically correct robot has an articulated skeleton, which means it can move like a person even though it cannot walk or move its limbs independently.

Robotic movement is built into ”the three inputs” and a mechanical heart that powers a liquid cooling system.

Roxxxy comes with five personalities. Wild Wendy is outgoing and adventurous. Frigid Farrah is reserved and shy. There is a young and naive personality and a Mature Martha that Hines describes as having a ”matriarchal kind of caring”. S&M Susan is geared for more adventurous types.

Aspiring partners can customise such features as race, hair colour and breast size. A male sex robot named Rocky is in development.

People ordering the robots online at truecompanion.com detail their tastes and interests to get the mechanical girlfriend in synch with her mate.

”She knows exactly what you like,” says Hines. ”If you like Porsches, she likes Porsches. If you like soccer, she likes soccer.” Roxxxy can chat with her flesh-and-blood mate, and touching her elicits a variety of comments.

Inspiration for the sex robot sprang from the September 11, 2001 attacks. ”I had a friend who passed away in 9/11,” Hines said. ”I promised myself I would create a program to store his personality, and that became the foundation for Roxxxy True Companion.”

Hines sees the robot as a recreational innovation and an outlet for the shy, people with sexual dysfunction and those who want to experiment without risk.

Roxxxy costs between $US7000 ($7634) and $US9000 depending on features.

A former boyfriend of a Playboy model, whose body was found burned in a garbage bin, said the model feared her current partner was “trying to kill” her.

Florida police are investigating the killing of Paula Sladewski, whose charred body was found in a North Miami dumpster on January 3, hours after she had been partying at a Miami nightclub.

The 26-year-old was at the club with her boyfriend, Kevin Klym, but he was thrown out of the club in the early hours of the morning after arguing with her, the Miami Herald reported.

Local media said police were treating Mr Klym as a “person of interest” because he was one of the last to see Sladewski, but also because of statements by Sladewski’s ex-boyfriend, David Coleman.

“She used to text me all the time in trouble asking for help,” Mr Coleman told Fox News. He said she sent him text messages saying Mr Klym was “trying to kill” her.

Mr Klym, via an attorney, said he was devastated and had nothing to do with the crime, the Miami Herald said.

He told police he took a taxi back to his hotel after leaving the club. Police had confirmed this, the Miami Herald said.

Mr Klym reported Sladewski missing later that night.

Sladewski’s family have told local media the pair’s relationship was volatile. Sladewski’s stepfather Richard Watkins said Mr Klym once broke the model’s nose during a fight, which Mr Klym had said was an accident.

Police have also released video surveillance footage of a black man who appeared to be leaving the Miami nightclub with Sladewski about 7.20am, Fox News reported.

Sladewski featured in Playboy’s video The Ultimate Playmate Search in 2003. The Michigan model had a number of auditions, but no real major breakthroughs, Mr Watkins told NBC.

Police believed she was dead before being set on fire, but did not know the cause of death.

Her sister, Kelly Farris, told the Miami Herald that Sladewski had long nails, and would most likely have left the killer with scratches.

“She was a scrapper,” she said.
